Senegalese-American singer and record producer, Akon, has finalized agreement to developing his own city called ‘Akon City’.
The singer shared via Instagram saying he has just finalized the agreements for developing the city.
“Just finalized the agreement for AKON CITY in Senegal. Looking forward to hosting you there in the future,” he wrote.
The Lonely singer signed with a state-owned tourism company, SAPCO, to build a complex in the seaside village of Mbodiene, about 75 miles south of the capital Dakar.
Alioune Badara Thiam aka Akon, spent his early childhood in Senegal before moving with his family to New Jersey at the age of 7.
He rose to prominence in 2004 following the release of “Locked Up”, the first single from his debut album, Trouble.
