The Yenagoa residence of Duoye Diri, Bayelsa’s new governor-elect, has been attacked by some angry protesters with some of his properties destroyed.
This reaction came just a few minutes after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Diri as the winner of the governorship election in the state, Daily Trust reports.
Moreover, the mob also destroyed properties belonging to other chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) located in the state’s capital.
Even more, the protesters damaged a public library built by a lawmaker representing Yenagoa and Kolokuma/Opokuma federal constituency, Steve Azaiki. They also attacked the PDP secretariat in Yenagoa.
